It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Hippe announce her passing on Wednesday,  March 2, 2022 Eileen was born In Eston, Saskatchewan not far from her Fathers homestead in the Lacadena area. At the age of 18 Mom moved to Saskatoon to further her education. She worked at many businesses in Saskatoon before settling in to a long career with the Saskatchewan Association of Architects retiring in 1990.  Mom met her soulmate Edwin in 1951 and they were married in 1952 and took the ride thru life together raising three brats and looking after all that brings with it.  Mom and Dad were lifelong members of St Paul’s Lutheran Church and her deep faith and the fellowship within her church community sustained her in the 20 years since Ed’s passing. Our mother’s favorite pastime was knitting.  Like she really loved to knit. Nonstop. All the time. Toques, mittens, scarves, preemie caps and sweaters to donate to charity and her special blankets that she would personalize for each one of her children and grandchildren… We have a life time supply thank you very much! Mom also loved to travel. Although Emma Lake became the summer encampment for the family, winters saw Mom and Dad travel extensively throughout North America visiting relatives and good friends. After Edwin’s passing mom spent the winters in Victoria with her lifelong best friend Bobbi.

Eileen is survived by her son Dale (Joan) grandchildren Mark, Janelle (Maria) and Scott (Kim), Her Daughter Linda, grandson Jesse and by her son Greg (Susan) grandchildren Jennifer (Derek) Adam (Cindy) and Kellen (Lisa).  Eileen also leaves great-grandchildren Emma, Lily, Hunter, Kennedy, Brock, Darian, Greyson and great great-granddaughter Payton who unfortunately mom never met due to Covid restrictions. Eileen was predeceased by her father George, mother Nellie, brother David, her husband of 50 years Edwin and her best friend for 70 years Roberta Webster.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michel Jutras for his care for mom over the last 35 years, The St Volodymyr community that she loved so much, Village Rose Health Care for their unwavering support, the staff at Warm and Cozy Care Home and the Palliative care team in her final days.
