Ronald Douglas Olson

Ron passed away on February 13, 2022 at St. Paul’s Hospital.  He was born on August 24, 1940 in Saskatoon, SK.  He is survived by: his long time companion, Debera Cumming and was predeceased by: his mother, Grace Odegard in 2001; his father, Ron Olson (1980); and his step father, Alf Odegard in 1980. 

Ron received his education in Saskatoon and began working at City Hall in 1959.  From 1976 to 1989 he resided in Fort St. John, BC.  He owned 2 taxi companies, a towing company and was an inspecting agent for the British Columbia government.  This operation was the largest in northern BC and employed 50 people in his department. 

In 1994 Rona met Debera Jean Cumming and they were companions in a long lasting relationship.  Dogs played an important part in his life: Sivers, Polo and Teco were his constant companions.  Ron retired in 1989 at age 49 due to health issues and returned home to Saskatoon. 

As per Ron’s request, there will be no funeral service.  His cremains will be interred at a later date in the family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery.
