So sorry to hear of Bobs passing, Joan and boys. He was such a good man, very fair, compassionate and understanding. Not usually words you hear from a national and international coach. I have some great memories that we shared on the ball diamond.'
He will truly be missed. Our sincere condolences to you. Rest in peace Bob!

Bob and I taught together at Shaughnessy Secondary Vocational School in Calgary between 1969-1975. He and Joan also lived a short distance from our home in Lake Bonavista, Calgary. He was a friend, colleague, and mentor to me as a teacher and later on when he became an Assistant Principal while our school transitioned from a Junior High to a Senior High School. He was an entrepreneur with good business acumen. While many of us from Saskatchewan left for Alberta in the 1960's Bob and Joan returned to their Saskatchewan roots in the 1980's. It is there where I lost contact with Bob. The years have gone by very quickly but the special memories of Bob and Joan in Calgary still remain fresh and special to us. Our prayers and sympathy go out to you Joan, Brad, Kevin and your entire family at this time and in the days ahead.
Love,
Arden and Joan Saxon

My memory of Bob was of his friendly wave from the school bus he drove to Lakeridge Public School, where I would arrive with my granddaughter and grandson, and often shared the wave leaving school. Our conversations from time to time gave me the sense of a quiet, kind person. I was surprised therefore on the Monday morning not to see him, and eventually was informed by the principal of the sad news of Bob's passing. Though it is evident he could have shared much about his past, he simply and gently responded to our relating to him in the present. Our hearts go out to Bob's family in his passing which for us was sudden and unexpected. May you know God's peace. Ernie Atkinson

I worked with Bob. He parked his bus next to mine and we chatted most afternoons. He was such a sweet and caring man. He always had a smile.
Sending so much love and comfort to his family.
