I remember Fr. Schmidt from his time in Red Deer. He taught my older siblings and they were fond of him as a teacher. He liked to go fishing with my dad at Mitchell Lake near Rocky Mountain House to catch rainbow trout He always enjoyed coming over to our house for Sunday supper, sharing a few jokes and enjoying a glass of my dad’s homemade crabapple wine and my mom’s good cooking. Happy memories for sure.

We too were so saddened to hear of the passing of Father Tony. We knew him during his many years in Leader. We loved when he shared photos of his avid hobby of photography and of course we also knew he was a great hunter, particularly of geese. We really loved his wry smile and unique giggle/laugh. He was a wonderful priest and a super boss to Mary. He will be not forgotten Sincere wishes from Mary and Kerry Wrishko, now if Saskatoon but formerly of Leader

John and Jeanette Gorski we send our Condolences to the family of Father Tony Schmidt on their loss of a great and caring Uncle. When he was in Battleford he was our replacement Priest when our parish priest went home for holidays. He never refused to come out to our communities to say Mass for us no matter what the roads or weather were like. A very caring and great Priest we sure will miss you Father Tony and may God surround you with the peace and love that you gave to all your parishioners. May you rest in Peace Father Tony.
