To Joe, Lori, Darren and families, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was an amazing lady that I always looked up to. She was a tough old bird but always had a smile on her face even through the hardest times. I will miss her. I'm sorry I couldn't get to the service, but did watch the live stream. It was beautiful.
It was great knowing Darlene(Dolly) and working with her. She was a caring person and will be missed by the individuals she worked with. There is a lot of great memories of her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Sorry I am unable to attend her service today, but will be thinking of her today and always.
I didn't get to know Darlene for long which is a shame as she was a super amazing woman. I used to come on Thursdays to help with recycling and garbage and feeding the birds during those visits we would sit and talk about the old days and plants and birds and just anything really, it was very easy to talk to her. I will miss our visits there were times where we would sit and chat and next thing you knew I had been gone for 2 hours. I will never forget the one Thursday I had just dyed my hair and come to do the garbage I knocked and walked in like I had always done came around the corner and she started laughing turns out I had blue and green hair dye all over my neck on my face and on my hands she said you look like an alien (my hair was a blue green color) we laughed together alot. I had really bad depression and when I would go there every little worry about life was lifted. She loved hearing about my kids especially my daughter who had autism. One day it was raining and my kids wanted to go jump in the puddles so off we went as we were walking by my daughter and I waved at her and she would just smile and wave. The next day she told me how amazing I was with my kids and how it looked like we were having the time of our lives. For me she was more than just a Thursday job she was part of my family I will miss her terribly.
Grandma Dolly...
I miss you. I miss your easy and infectious laugh. I miss your raunchy and spicy humor. I miss you and Bill bantering back and forth. I miss the handmade gifts - the doilies, the towel things, the face cloths.
You were strong and so stubborn. You had great spirit and could turn the worst day around.
I mourn the person you were becoming and the life you had yet to live. You didn't really get the chance to grow old.
Grandma, my heart broke when we lost you. You left a gaping hole in many of our lives but we feel grateful that you are no longer struggling. Your time was far too short.
I really enjoyed working with Darlene (Dolly) She was one of a kind and she kept you on your toes with her pranks and jokes. It was never dull with her around. Her memory lives on with all of us as we all have our Dolly story’s
