Obituary of Theresa Matiakis

Theresa Matiakis
June 29, 1939 – January 1, 2022

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Theresa Matiakis on January 1, 2022 at Glengarda Hospice. Theresa was born in Humboldt, SK, the youngest of 16 children along with her twin brother Paul, to Valentine and Elizabeth Fraess. Theresa worked for many years in the restaurant and hospitality industry where she met her husband John. John and Theresa were later blessed with the birth of their son Constantine. Theresa is survived by her husband John, son Constantine (Barbara) and grandchildren Noah and Lauren of Calgary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She was strong in her Catholic faith, and she was especially moved by the words of the Apostle Paul “Give honour where honour is due.” meaning the Theotokos, Mother of God. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Pl.
