So sorry to learn of Marg’s recent passing. We were very good friends when we were young and moved to Alberta together in 1970. So many great memories of our teenage years and our first couple years in Calgary. I always hoped we would be in Nova Scotia at the same time. I regret that we did not keep in better touch through the years.

Marg was our wonderful neighbor for just over 16 years. She was a kind, thoughtful and beautiful human being who will be greatly missed. I will miss our visits and coffee (or the occasional glass of wine lol) on her back deck. She was always so proud of her family and grandchildren and would often talk about their latest dance, art or sewing projects. Marg was a beautiful artist, intelligent and also had a wonderful sense of humour and would often forward funny jokes or stories she found online. She was also like a second grandma to our son Andrew and he adored her. Each Halloween she would call him over to pick up his “Andrew bag” just for him with a box of chocolates, other candy and always a can of orange crush in the bag. She was always thinking of others and had a way of making you feel special. So grateful that she got to move closer to her family and share that special time with them prior to her passing, such a blessing. Thinking of you all during this sad time and sending all our love your way xo

Marg was one of our High School group of girls who spent many hours together having fun at teenage dances, sitting in the Venus Restaurant eating french fries and drinking coke, or just hanging around at someone's home. Although never very noisy, she was always ready to take part and enjoy whatever we were up to!
When she came to Amherst to visit with her mom she always gave me a call and we enjoyed a trip to the Casino in Moncton. She loved that!
A true and genuine person who I am proud to say was my friend. RIP Marg.
Thoughts and prayers to all the family.

Marg was meticulous and exacting in all she did. She worked with me as a payroll clerk in the 1990's and rarely made an error. She challenged me constantly with her insightful questions. We began to go out regularly for team meeting lunches, a tradition which continued until Covid intervened. I did take photos once in a while but could find only this one of Judith and Marg taken in 2016.
Recently I discovered that Marg was related to my fiance, Frank Trenholm, who passed away on November 30th. His Trenholm ancestor also came from Yorkshire in the 1780's on the ship, Duke of York.
I will miss Marg and send my condolences to her family.

I worked with Marg many years ago at AIMHI and we have had lunch dates with Evelyn and Maureen for many years. Marg was always interested in all our families as we were in hers. I will miss our fun times together. Sending my sympathy to the family. Judith

I miss, Marg, my former neighbour, friend who later turned out to be one who shared dna and family history through my genealogy research. We spent a lot of time together over the years. Marg was a wonderful artist, loved her pets (and eveyone else's), like to go out for meals. was a beautiful seamstress and she enjoyed her grandchildren. Thank goodness she made the move to be close to them at the end of her life. I remember when she travelled to Nova Scotia to support her mother and family when her mother was hospitalized and later moved to a facility in Amherst, Nova Scotia. As a Chapman, she was from a family who settled in Nova Scotia after the journey from Yorkshire, England, about 1772. Her mother, Jantina, was from Holland as a war bride who relocated to Canada post WW 2. Jantina was a strong person who lead her family of five children forward after the death of her husband Arnold, at age 43. Margaret represented the strength and determination of her family and their roots. I will miss her forever, Jean McFarland Prince George

We all have had so much fun over the years when Marg and Dave would come home for visits ; we could be guaranteed a great meal(usually compliments of Dave) and then we would all gather to play the " present game" ( They always brought the presents, and great presents they were!!) Always a fantastic time with a little bit of wine(yeah right!) and lots of laughs! Marg was always so kind hearted and thoughtful, never missing the opportunity to gift the new great nieces and nephews way down here in Nova Scotia with wonderful presents. We are all so very grateful for all good times and so many great laughs ( big, loud , boisterous, good old belly laughs- Chapman's usually aren't very quiet!!)
We're so very sorry Janna, Jeff & family , you were all so fortunate to spend so much time together lately; I'm sure Marg loved having the opportunity to spend more time with you all - she was so very proud of Grace and Abbie. Love the photos, always so photogenic:) Take care and know we are thinking of you all.

I have many memories of my aunt but one really stands out. When I was young and she came to Gibbons,AB to visit, she would always bring us Cookies by George! It turned into an annual thing! It was always happy times when she was coming to visit. Marg was the most down to earth, kindest, caring person. She had a heart of gold. We had many many great phone conversations. We learned through these that Marg and I had a lot of similarities.I thought of her as my second mom! I will forever cherish my memories of her! I’m going to miss her tremendously and she will forever be in my heart. Rest In Peace Marg.
