The Glens played a huge role in our family life and I’m so grateful for our friendship and connection through the years. Gordon lived next door to us on 111th Street in the 400 square foot house and Jim & I would stand at the fence and say, “ Hi Mr. Glen” over and over again and continually bother him and yet he never seemed bothered. Then one day we told our mom and dad that there was a Mrs. Glen. The friendship began and flourished from that day forth. I loved all of our adventures and valued our life together. Gordon’s life was so well lived! The way a life should be. Thank you Gordon. Fly on…

We always appreciated the Glen family as neighbors when we lived in Sutherland. Gordon and I carpooled to work for several winters. My inspiration for aviation was stymied by monocular vision until Gordon made me aware of particular rules by Transport Canada that would allow for a private pilots license in spite of this condition. After 50 years in aviation and having flown privately to 21 different countries I am forever grateful to Gordon Glen for his insight and unselfish sharing of information. Rest In Peace my friend. My condolences to the family and to all who experienced his enthusiasm for life.

Gordon is a gem of a man who has now left us. I got to know him through organbuilding which was a long standing interest of his. We worked together on a number of projects including a rebuild of a Hammond A-100 tone generator for which he machined precision bearings which have not been available anywhere in the world that I know of for at least 45 years. Gordon was a model of human goodness. He was humble and unassuming, loyal, honest, careful, considerate, responsible, had a good sense of humour, hard working, and thorough in everything he did. His love for Flo and his family was easily apparent. It is a loss to us, a great loss indeed. But his friendship will not die. His spirit of goodness lives on as does his love for his family and friends. We will meet again my friend! Our paths did not cross for nothing. The best part is yet to come. Thank you Gordon, for your friendship and support. Thank you for your good and instructive example. Thank you Gordon for restoring my confidence in the goodness of humanity. May you now be granted the eternal reward you so much deserve. May you rest in peace and may we meet again!
