Hello Sandra and Dale. I tried posting this a few minutes ago but I do not think it posted successfully so I will try again. I am sorry if you get this twice.
First let me apologize for only finding out today of Vern's passing (via Sask Sports Hall of Fame newsletter). Vern and I had many great discussions and chats over the years. We were definitely "birds of a feather".
Having lost many friends and family I have found that sharing and remembering the best times and the special moments is the most wonderful way to carry a person forward with us. I am sure that you both have many of these and can re-enjoy them with each other and individually.
Again, sorry for my lateness.
Kind regards
Keith Russell

So sorry to hear about Mr. Alldred. He was a pretty cool teacher at Murray. He will always be Mr. Alldred. Always a smile and a nice chat every time we met after I graduated.
My condolences to the family.

Dear Sandra,
Wishing you and your family heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. I am sad to hear about Verne’s passing and the health challenges he, and your family, had to endure for so long. I enjoyed being a colleague of his at WMCI and will remember his smile, his thoughtfulness and patience with students, his commitment to his profession and (because we lived in the same neighborhood) his daily sprint, not a jog, to school and back! He was a proud husband and father which was evident when he talked about his family.
Thinking of you,
Shirley Figley

Dear Sandra and family: We were saddened to learn of Verne's death. He was friend and a colleague of our family for many years. He had a strong influence in the teaching of our children and many others over almost 30 years at WMCI. Verne was a quiet, persistent individual who made his presence felt in quiet leadership. He was steadfast! He will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew him.
