Obituary of Terry Joseph Rumpel
Terry Joseph Rumpel
October 30, 1959 - September 14, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Terry Joseph Rumpel, aged 61 years, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends.
Terry was born in Saskatoon, SK to Mervin and Arlene Rumpel. In his early years he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Alongside his brother Dean and their father Merv, he helped build the family businesses, Glenwood RV Centre and Pleasure-Way Industries. He was known for his clever charm and wit while selling camping trailers and vans, as well as his ability to make staff and customers feel like family. He was blessed with three children, Brant (Faye), Devon (Roberta), and Lexie, who were his pride, as well as two granddaughters, Giselle and Beatrix.
In 1997, Terry bought the family cabin at Wakaw Lake where he enjoyed many “toys” that he shared with family and friends. His children will cherish their many wonderful memories of time spent together at Wakaw Lake, boating, snowmobiling and just having a good time.
Later in life, Terry spent winters in Palm Springs with his many friends. Terry had a great sense of humour, could always tell a good story, and had a nickname for everyone.
The family would like to thank Terry’s many friends and the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for their kindness through these difficult times. A private service for the immediate family will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Saskatoon. At a later date, Terry’s children plan to organize a memorial gathering to celebrate Terry’s life with a wider group of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Terry’s name to Ducks Unlimited (https://support.ducks.ca/campaign/conservation-donation-in-memoriam/c283238).
