Floyd was probably one of the nicest people I have known. When I was young, I was preoccupied with life in general, and didn’t spend the time getting to know the older people in my life. It wasn’t till later that I had more appreciation for Grandma (Edna), Minnie and Floyd and there own experiences and stories of life. We could visit without them wondering what kind of trouble a bunch of hyper little grandkids were getting into! lol
After getting married, eventually moving back to Sask, my wife Lori and I were able to visit Floyd more often, he always wanted to take us out to the Saskatoon Inn for lunch, that man loved his deserts. :) Floyd was a delight to be around, seemed happy, never had a bad word to say about anyone, just a general positive attitude. If anything, I often looked at him and his demeanor in life, and thought of him as someone to strive to be like. A special person indeed, farewell Floyd, you are missed.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to Floyd’s family. Losing a family member is never easy.
Floyd has been a decades-long family friend and a truly lovable, kind “gentleman”. He was a gentle soul. I will always cherish my friendship and the opportunity to have worked together with Floyd at Arnold’s and The Bay menswear.
I will surely miss our regular telephone conversations and personal visits whenever I was back in Saskatoon and when he visited B.C. Someone so special can never be forgotten.

I remember Uncle Floyd for his kind, courteous nature and gentle sense of humor. At my grandparent’s (Schellenberg) family dinners he was undoubtedly the best dressed man in the room. He always had positive, encouraging words for his young - early twenty year old - nephew.
I recall a time when Floyd bought a brand new car even though his previous one was just a few years old. I asked him why and he explained the car had developed a rattle in the window that he could not stand (the dealer could fix it). He was definitely a man who took his automobiles seriously. Of course considering how much driving he did (often in the service of others) it does make sense.
My wife Terry developed an instant fondness for Floyd the first time she met him - he had chauffeured a friend from Saskatoon down to San Diego for her winter stay. The feeling must have been mutual because he often asked if I was “taking good care of that special girl” when we spoke on the phone.
I will always remember Floyd’s grace, charm, and kindness to others.
