When I think of Edith May the word that comes to mind is Mirth! When Ronna and I were 15 and joined at the hip, I would often have a quick chat with her as I passed through the kitchen or the living room and invariably whatever I said would amuse her. I only ever saw her smiling or laughing or both and she always made me feel welcome and loved. I am so saddened she is gone but she will not be forgotten.
Nancy Ard Ferguson.

Edith you will be so missed. I had the privilege of knowing Edith and being around her a lot as I was one of Gails' best friends during high school. Edith's generosity and sweet loving spirit was always present when you visited the May home.
Anyone that came to visit was family in their eyes. Whether it was at their home, or out at the lake I always felt welcome and loved, and taken care of.
I'll treasure all the wonderful memories I have of Edith. Sending lots of loving hugs and care to Gail, Marlyn and Ronna and all the grandchildren. <3 <3

Aunt Edith was also warm and welcoming, eager and interested to hear what you had to say. And she had a beautiful, genuine smile.

I remember the excitement that preceded Auntie Edith and family’s arrival by her Nanaimo BC relatives. It was always a very special time. Aunt Edith always had time for you and was interested and caring. Dad always spoke warmly of his younger years and the special place in his heart that his sister held. Love and condolences to you all today.

Madame May was so very very special to us and we will miss her so very much. She was a very dear friend to my parents, and a Grandmother to my brother and I. She always made time for us and made us feel so special. I remember her helping my mom when I was sick, giving Bruno raspberry candies when he rang the doorbell to ask for them, and she always gave me a book for my birthday and would take time to sit down and read it to me. We were so sad when she moved away, but Madame May stayed ever present in our lives. She called, wrote us cards and came to visit whenever she was in town. We are so very blessed to have had the gift of Madame May in our lives. We will always have very precious memories of her. She left her mark on all of us. Our very deepest sympathies to her family and her many friends. We love you Madame May!
