It is with sadness the family announces that Audrey passed away on Monday, August 9th, at home peacefully with her family by her side at 77 years of age. Audrey is survived by her husband Paul, son Maury (Shauna), daughter Sharlene (Mark) Reynolds, four grandchildren; Lindsay and Jeremy Wawryk and Thora and Elias Reynolds, sister Judi (Arni) Schmeichel and brother Don (Joan) Archibald as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Clara and James Archibald.
Audrey was born in Medicine Hat Alberta in 1943 and lived in Rivers Manitoba before settling onto a farm near Preeceville Saskatchewan. In her early childhood she took her education in a rural one room school house before the family relocated in 1953 to settle in Saskatoon. She graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and Saskatoon Teachers College before moving onto a teaching career at the young age of 18. Audrey met the love of her life, Paul Wawryk in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan in 1965. They were married in the spring of 1966 and soon the family grew with the birth of their two children Maury and Sharlene.
Audrey loved music, the lake, family reunions, travelling, picking berries, cooking and gardening. She loved spending time with family, and cared passionately about the well being of everyone she knew. She was known to put you first and herself second, as she was a very kind and loving person. Her favorite times were spent watching her grandchildren playing ball and spending time at the family cabin at Little Bear Lake.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the Diabetes Association of Canada (diabetes.ca) would be appreciated by the family. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be Monday August 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception. with both Services taking place at Saskatoon Funeral Home (4th Ave. & 25th St.) The Funeral Service will be livestreamed and can be accessed by the link on the top of Audrey’s tribute page.
