Thomas family send condolences to Teri, son Stuart and family. I remember my first time meeting Colin when I joined the Investor Relations team at Cameco and I had to prepare slides for Colin. An amazing geologist and man who taught me a lot about rocks! Colin, your wisdom and expertise will be missed and I feel fortunate to have learned from you amd traveled to London with you. Lots of love and hugs to the Macdonald family.

It is incredibly shocking and unbelievably saddening to learn about Colin's passing. I will miss Colin as one of the truly amazing individuals I have every had the pleasure of ever getting to know. Colin's influence on those around them has been profound. In addition to being a great leader and an insightful mentor, I was always amazed by his ability to bring people together with his vision, his passion and his skill, by making all those around him better people, whether it be in his professional life, his personal life, and in helping the community through is active participation in the arts. Our thoughts and prayers are with Teri, Stuart and all his grandchildren.

Teri, Stewart and family,
Laura and I were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Colin’s passing. We extend our sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time. I first met Colin in the early 1980’s when we were both working on the Dawn Lake project. Colin was an excellent geologist, and a true professional in every sense. He was a leader and visionary who developed a keen business sense which ultimately contributed to Cameco’s overall exploration success. Colin you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Too soon to go for someone who passionately needed to continue to explore and learn about the rest of the world in partnership with Teri and family. Thanks Colin for being such a great friend from those years at Queen’s University and for the leadership and mentorship in a large exploration group at Cameco. You were a natural leader always proposing thoughtful innovative strategies in an atmosphere of listening, empathy, and supportive but firm direction. You never talked much about your many other contributions to society because that was who you were but they will be remembered and sorely missed.

Our sincere condolences Teri and Stuart.
I loved talking ‘travel’ with Colin. I laugh each time I think of buying a brightly coloured top in another country, remembering his story of how things just don’t look as good when you get them home. I shake my head when I am packing my big suitcase, remembering him saying he packed for a month in a carry-on bag, as did laundry in the sink. I smile when I try a new mole sauce, remembering his story of experiencing different sauces in the different regions of Mexico.
May your tears of sadness turn into tears of joy, when you remember all the treasured moments you shared together.

For Stuart
I am writing for my mother Lorraine Barlow who was very sad to hear of your Dads passing she was your babysitter back in the day and recalls that your Dad was a great parent always checking in with her when you were feeling unwell. She had great respect for him and know that you are in her thoughts.

My sincere condolences to the family of Colin Macdonald.
Colin was a man of great vison and was like a bloodhound on a trail when he scented the trace of a possible mineral deposit. Combined with a creative business mind, you could not find a better man to be your geologist-in-charge.
He was a mentor to me, whether he knew it or not.
May he rest in peace,
Warren Stanyer
