Obituary of Theresa Ann Novicki-Chew
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa Novicki-Chew announce her passing on July 9, 2021. Theresa passed away peacefully at RUH, surrounded by family, after her courageous battle with cancer.
Theresa was born on December 25, 1956, to Joseph and Angeline Novicki. She grew up in Krydor, SK and had two older sisters, Joan and Verna. Even though cancer took her from us, it brought her the greatest gift in her life . . . Hong. They were married on June 30, 2007. Theresa adopted Hong's culture and embraced it to the fullest. Her best loved way to do this was through food. She ate all and any exotic dishes, especially chicken feet, which were her favorite. After retiring from Sasktel, Theresa found her passion in fashion and worked at J. Michael's Ladies Wear. She loved to shop, and no one could find a better bargain than her! Theresa much-loved to go for "look see" outings with Hong.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband and best friend Hong Chew; sisters, Joan Wintonyk and Verna (Ernie) Shewchuk; sister-in-laws, Teresa (Stan) Ma, May (Henry) Chan; brother-in-law, Tony (LiPing) Chew; and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Angeline Novicki; brother-in-law Lawrence Wintonyk and Hong's parents, Jimmy and Chan Choy Chun Chew.
Theresa was a calm, soft spoken and caring gentle soul who was always ready to give out a hug. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and generous nature.
Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 14, 2021 (3339 Centennial Dr.)
