Bernie passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2021 at St Paul's hospital in Saskatoon. Bernie was predeceased by his son Scott Clarkson, sister Maureen Pereschitz, brother Oswald Clarkson and sister Rita Brink. Bernie was born in 1942 in Saskatoon where he attended St Joseph grade school and graduated from St Paul's Catholic school. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a diploma in agriculture. Bernie moved to Calgary where he worked for General Motors and met his wife, Betty. Bernie and Betty married in 1969 and decided to return to Saskatchewan to take over the family farm and raise their two boys, Scott and Kevin. Bernie was heavily involved in the Simmental breed serving on the Saskatchewan and National boards. He loved good cattle and spent countless hours analyzing genetics trying to improve his cow herd. He loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing and got a chance to fulfill his dream of a fly-in fishing trip for his 60th birthday. Bernie was most proud of his four grandchildren and loved to share stories about them and their achievements. Bernie is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Kevin (Jo Ann); and his grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Macy and Aiden.
