Obituary of Shirley Marie Langdeau
It is with celebration of a life well lived that we announce the passing of Shirley Langdeau (nee Smith) in Saskatoon from glioblastoma.
Shirley was a beloved wife, an awesome grandma, an adequate sister, a fantastic friend, and the best mom (mim) and mother-in-law ever.
She was the center of our family and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything was just right. Taking care of others and adding extra special touches were huge strengths of hers. These skills really shined when she hosted events, brought treats, or worked in one of her various jobs. She had a way of making people feel special and loved, and will be both missed and remembered by the people whose lives she touched.
Shirley loved camping, fishing, family, friends, wine, dancing, dinners with the clambake gang, and laughing.
Left unfiltered by her passing is her husband and partner of 42 years, Ray.
Also left to celebrate her life are their children Cara Reynolds, Samantha (Paul) Gullekson, Louis (Karen), Conrad (Jenn), grandchildren Wesley, Barrett, and Russell Gullekson, brother Brian (Jenn), sisters Lorraine (Rocky) Morrow and Diane (Tom Neil) Cloke, and her father Donald, sisters-In-law Louise (Dr. Eric) Wasylenko, Denise (Paul) Pankiw, Francine (Len) Vandenberg, Valerie (Dave) MacDonald and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brother Edward, her mother Dorothy, her sister Marilyn Newman and her father and mother-in-law, Louis and Gerry Langdeau.
A private funeral will be held in Fort Saskatchewan on June 25th, and a celebration of Shirley’s life in Fort Saskatchewan, once COVID restrictions allow.
