We offer my condolences to Wanda and all of his loved ones.
I am an old school friend of Peter and knew him from middle school till the end of of his university days and unfortunately I kind of drifted apart after our school years. I remember Peter as being a very kind, hard working knowledgeable and wise person.
I also remember the love of a "blue: steak" --at that time the only way my mother cook steaks-was well done.!!! How things have changed.
I had the opportunity to see Peter when he visited Calgary in the early 1990's, we spent a few hours together and it was really nice to see him.
I had been talking to Roland Siba and he had indicated that Peter was having some health issues.
In my books Peter was a Good Man and the world will be lesser place with out him.

Wanda and family. My sincere condolences on the loss of Peter. I first met Peter about 1964 when the family moved to Wakaw. I lived in neighboring Cudworth. Our parents became friends for life. I played hockey against Peter during high school. Peter was just behind me in law school. I remember your wedding in Saltcoats. I would see him from time to time in our early years in Saskatoon. but unfortunately lost contact with him after he moved except to see him him from time to time at our parents' funerals.I considered Peter my friend and will miss him. We have so many happy memories of Peter. He was a man of integrity, gentleness, and empathy. He was a credit to our profession and to the Bench. He treated all who came before him with dignity and he never forgot the basic humanity of those who had to appear in court.
We also remember him hosting the Yorkton-Melville Bar Association bonspiel in Saltcoats. His humour and sensitivity was appreciated by all.
His final years were very sad and unwarranted. He will be missed by many.

Wanda,
It was with great surprise and deepest sorry that Shirley and I learned of Peter's passing.
My best friend in grade 8 to my roomy in my first year of university to best man at our marriage. Peter was part of major moments in my life.
Though we had grown apart over some 50 years, learning of Peter's accomplishments were of little surprise to me as Pater was always a goal-driven man. I hope that his children and grandchildren gain solace by his example and I feel I am a better man for having known him.
As Shirley and I observe our 50th wedding anniversary this Fall, I assure you that the memory of Peter will be present for us.
God speed Pete,
Your friend Rollie

Wanda and Family,
I knew Peter best on the Provincial Court, but even before that during Legal Aid days, I new him to be thoughtful, fun and really smart. He was quick to send notes of appreciation. Peter was well known in our chambers for always being up-to-date on the law, on any subject. When asked for some direction about a new and thorny area of the law, he would quickly produce a case that was right on point! Peter was always friendly and welcoming with everyone and had a playful sense of humour that he shared readily. We will remember you fondly, Peter and with great appreciation. Sheila Whelan

Dear Wanda and all your dear children and grandchildren.....our heartfelt sympathy goes to you as we so fondly remember our neighbours and friends, and particularly Peter. I came to know Peter through our many years together on town council. It was quite a stroke of luck to have Peter on council, and he would occasionally remind us of the “right” thing to do, from a legal point of view. His advice was much appreciated.....he was a valuable asset....and his sense of humour was always appreciated too! We supported his appointment to be a judge, but we sure missed the whole family when that meant you had to move....well, mostly....Potash liked it here better, apparently. Lee kinda liked it at the Regional too if I recall correctly!
Our thoughts have been with you...and we will continue to remember Peter.
Lots of hugs from all of us....Joan, Rob, Shevon, and Trent and family

I worked with Peter at the YMCA camp at Wakaw Lake, and we became friends. I met Wanda while she was visiting her cousin, Susan Avant, in Saskatoon, and we became friends. Wanda met Steven, and they became friends, then lovers for life. Our acquaintance was all too brief, but I have always remembered the pair of you with fondness.

Our condolences to Wanda and family. Peter was a wonderful colleague on the Provincial Court. His carefully considered judgments remain a testament to this outstanding jurist. He served the court as President of its judicial association. As a lawyer and a judge, he epitomized the highest standards of his profession. In the social life of the profession, Peter and Wanda were always appreciated for their kindness, good humour and welcoming spirit.
Rest In Peace Peter.
