A wonderful teacher in my Wadena Public School back in the '50's
She was always so very supportive of me in my early years.
On one occasion , which involved a band trip to Moose Jaw for the International Band Festival , she learned that i was very short of money to spend the day....just like your mom , she handed me an extra 5 dollars and said don't tell anyone.
What a difference that small gesture made.
Love
Borys P. Kozak.

From the moment I met your mom, I knew she was a force to be reckoned with, but also a true and loving advocate for family and friends. I was always amazed at her energy level – the physically active lifestyle she and Uncle Mac pursued well into their senior years, and her life-long love of learning and desire to work /share her skills and keep her mind active -long after she “retired”. She was an inspiring woman, but also a dear aunt who always made a special effort when anyone came to visit- from fresh baked loaves, cookies or braided Ukrainian Easter bread- to fresh raspberry nectar in summer and cases of garlicy dill pickles for Kim in the fall. She was also a talented and creative seamstress and crafter. The pillow cases she made with love for each of us (hand selected prints- gardener, farmer, ocean etc) are still the best ones I own! Her smile, quick sense of humor, positive outlook and genuine love for her family will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered.

We first met Lee working in her garden over the fence. Over the course of time our greetings turned into talks, and shortly after into exchanges of game meat and fish for fresh vegetables and fruit, of Chinese food and tea for Ukrainian food and a genuine friendship. Lee and Mack were amazing neighbours and became very good friends. Our family will miss them both, but we are all very glad to have shared some time with them. Our heartfelt condolences to the Miller family.

Lee and Mack were special people and always had a kind word when I used to run into them in the city. They provided our family with crocuses to put on my Dad's grave as it was his favorite flower. To Karl and Jody, your Mom was a great person but I must admit I did fear her in school as she had the eyes of a hawk. My condolences to the family.
