I spoke to Uncle Ron on the phone a couple weeks ago to let him know my mom had recently passed. I’m very happy I had the opportunity. Uncle Ron was a highly respected figure in our family. He conducted my Uncle Jim’s funeral in Toronto. He was a true friend to my grandfather John Beechinor. When I lived in Saskatoon he welcomed me into his home to join him and Sister Cecile for dinners. He was a kind and generous man and he reminded me of my grandpa which was very special for me. Rest In Peace Father Ron, you are much missed!

Father Ron (Uncle Ron to me) married my wife Lindsay and I 40 years ago and baptized our 3 children as they came along. He also buried my Dad, as he did all of his siblings (except his brother Tom who was killed in WW 2) and his parents. He was there to share wonderful times, he was there to give comfort in difficult times and he was there any time he was needed in between. He was a rock for us all and we will miss him greatly.

FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY, May 30, 2021.
I was attending live-streamed Mass with St. Pau's Co-Cathedral today and they mentioned prayers for his soul. I was devastated!!
I was unaware, I did not know...
Yesterday, May 29, Pope Francis' 30 Shrines Rosary intentions was for the Consecrated, I prayed for Fr. Ron, without knowing he passed away...
I met Fr. Ron at St. Philip Neri about 5 years ago. We had a very close bond...I have great-great respect, admiration and love for him!!
I would come only to him, when I needed spiritual guidance... he had the wisdom of God.
I shall pray for him and add his name to the list of priests who have died, and who I have been praying for.
"Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Ron, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace through Your mercy, O Lord. AMEN."

Father Ron Beechinor taught me Social Studies when I attended E.D. Feehan Catholic High School in the early 1970's (grades 10, 11, 12). My final marks in these three social studies classes were 96, 97, and 98 percents. I have always said that Father Beechinor must have done something right teaching me for me to achieve these kinds of final marks! For the 45th Class of 1973 High School Reunion (held in September 2018), Father Beechinor was kind enough to say a special prayer for the 1973 graduates and the 1968-1972 classmates who are no longer with us. When the invitation was extended to Father Beechinor to say this special prayer, he made mention that his years in the priesthood (some 50 plus years) were the best years of his life. And so, I will now say a special prayer for Father Ron Beechinor.

It was great to catch up with him in 2018 after I asked him to speak at and bless our 45 year reunion at E.D. Feehan High School.
Certainly Father Beechinor was one of the most well liked teachers at the school in my time there.
Bless you Father Beechinor!!

I always felt loved by Ron and never judged. He never let go of me and he knew I held him close in my heart - always will.
I love that he touched so many, many people. At a large pool party at my in-laws in Winnipeg 20 years ago, man in his 40s heard my name and asked if I was related to Father Beech’ - I confirmed he was my Uncle Ron and the man turned to about a dozen friends who cheered and regaled me with stories of their favourite teacher from high school. I was an instant celebrity. He will be missed by just about everyone he ever knew.

It was my privilege to know Father Beechinor for over 20 years. He was one of the most kind and gentle people I ever met in my life. His thoughtfulness of giving to help others is beyond what many will ever know and anonymity always triumphed over the spotlight.
Father Beechinor was one of the many people who helped strengthen the work at The Friendship Inn. He served on the Board for 10 years and was Board Chair in 1979 as the Inn celebrated 10 years of service to Saskatoon.
I count my life blessed because I knew Father Beechinor and I expect there are countless others who can say the same. My thoughts go out to all those who knew this special person.

My prayers and sympathies to the Beechinor family on the death of Father Ron. Five years as classmates in Seminary life and ten years working together as colleagues in the Diocese of Saskatoon created a bond of friendship that has lasted a life time. A true and faithful servant who assisted in bringing great stability to the Church in Saskatoon through decades of Church struggle with post-Vatican renewal. May he rest in peace! Sincerely, John R. (Jack) McDonald and Family, Calgary.
