Mike and I send our love.
I wanted to share some of our memories of Max. We moved away 14 years ago so didn’t have a lot of time to get to know him. I still have a few fond memories I would like to share.
Gord and Helge and the boys came to visit us after we moved and the boys were still quite young. Mike and I will always remember Max not yet in school running up to us and saying “ I like your house - its wide”. We often chuckle when we think of our WIDE house.
That same visit I was entertaining the boys in the basement with some paper and crayons. I had a special box of new crayons that I let them use. Shortly after Max came up to me looking so sad to tell me he broke one of aunties crayons. So sweet and honest. A hug followed that confession.
Though we took few trips back I found that Max was fond of animals as he wanted to come and meet our dog Pequito that was in the back of the car before we left for home. A few years later that same dog accompanied us to Gords place for a chicken dinner. Max made a great friend in Pequito by sneaking a lot of chicken his way. I am pretty sure that was a trick he learned from his dad. . Needless to say one happy dog.
Another visit had me at Gords when it came time to pick Max up from school, I hadn’t seen him in a couple years and was shocked to see the good looking young man walking towards us. He had his learners licence at the time and took the wheel of the car with Aunty as the adult in front with him. I usually panic with a new driver behind the wheel but he carefully drove us through Tim Horton drive through for some treats and got us safely back to the house. I think I likely made him more nervous than I was but he certainly didn’t show it.
My last quick visit by the house about a year later will be long remembered by the big warm hug from Max before he rushed off to meet friends.
I regret we didn’t know each other better but will treasure each and every little memory for years to come and will feel that warm hug every time I think of him.

Karoline and I can still remember Max and his teeny-tiny BMX-bike and how he practised tricks with it again and again on your road. We also remember his attempts at speaking German with us during our visit.
Your obituaty is full of love and it touched us very much. This love will stay with you forever.
Our thoughts are with you.
Feel hugged and supported,
Sabine and Karoline
