It is with emotional devastation that we announce the passing of Norma, beloved wife of Zoltan for 56 years on earth and for eternity in heaven. Norma will be lovingly remembered by her children, Warren and Darcy; son-in-law, Bob Hodgson; lovely granddaughter Jezlyn “Izzy”; and many relatives and friends. Norma was predeceased by her parents; husband, Zoltan; daughter, Janette; and brother, Gordon. Norma, like Zoltan, grew up on a farm in Eastern Saskatchewan where she learned the value of hard work, which was definitely passed on to her children. She attended a regular education in Saskatchewan, then as a young woman boarded with a single lady away from the farm to continue her education; that single lady sang at Norma’s wedding. After that Norma returned to the farm and started teaching school. She started dating Zoltan; which they knew each other since they were the ages of 5 and 7. Then on a warm November 15, 1954 they got married. Norma and Zoltan then moved to Western Manitoba where Zoltan sold insurance. It was very very brief, as Norma made him quit for the lack of ethics by the company. They then moved to Regina and Zoltan gained employment at Inter Continental Packer Ltd. and Norma hoped to gain employment at a doctor’s office, but instead ended up working administration at Saskatchewan Public Health. It was in Regina Norma and Zoltan had 2 children, Janette and Warren. While in Regina in 1962, Zoltan got hurt at Intercon and was Norma was then thrust into the job of caregiver. In 1965, Zoltan was transferred to Intercon’s new plant in Saskatoon. In Saskatoon another son was born, Darcy. From 1965 to present Norma and family resided in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Norma, from 1962 to 2021, was Zoltan’s caregiver until his passing, and at the same time selling nutrimetics and vitamins up until her passing. Norma, who was devastated by Zoltan’s passing, ended up permanently in a wheelchair by December 2011. Norma was then cared for by her 3 children until Janette’s passing in 2018. Then it was just her 2 son’s from 2017 onwards until Norma’s passing at home. Norma through her life always helped others, cared for others especially her family, never asked for anything in return except a simple thank you, at times she never even received that. God has put angels on this earth to show us how it should be, her strong unshakeable faith made her one of God’s chosen. She is now with Zoltan, Dad, and she is safe at home now. From Warren and myself as I told her every day, Mom you are loved, wanted and needed, you and Dad are always the head of our household. Rest well in Dad’s embrace my little “Babesgirl”. There will be a private family service on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home.
