I first volunteered for the Symphony Booksale in 1992 and Kathy was called out of the stacks to train me. I could hear her muttering I hope they don’t put me on cash so was very relieved to see me and show me how to work behind the scenes. This led to a beautiful friendship where we considered each other family and an aunt to the girls. Her stories, smile and laughter, love for life and coffee time on the back deck will be greatly missed.
Forever in our hearts forever loved

Kathy was a long time volunteer for the SSO Book & Music Sale. She told such interesting stories of the early years of the sale, such as the year the sale was in Wlldwood Mall. As they were going out the front door at the end of the sale, they were already demolishing a part of the back wall of the space they had been in. She was always willing to pitch in to help. Her green car, held together in places by duct tape, will be remembered by all who knew her. We will miss her smile, her laugh, her gentle nature and her generous heart. Rest In Peace Kathy.
From the volunteers of the SSO Book & Music Sale.

I was very saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. She is such a part of my childhood memories - I can’t remember not knowing Kathy and her family. She was a generous, cheerful person. As a young girl, she would lend me books to read from her phenomenal book collection. Our dog, Baska and Kathy were mutual admiration fans of each other. Kathy’s infectious smile and nature will be missed.

As one of Kathy's long time Eldorado friends, I was deeply saddened to learn of her sudden passing. She was a wonderful and caring person to all who knew her and will be fondly remembered by all her many friends. We all admired her for her devoted support and care for her parents.
As mentioned in the obituary Kathy was considered a member of many families and the Smith family was one of them. We always appreciate her participation in family events.
I will miss receiving her annual Christmas letters with all her news.
To her family, please accept my sincere condolences.
