You have been my first and only « love at first sight ». I fell madly in love with you, Charles Peter Laurie Nekrasoff, who didn’t know his last name was the title of a play by a French philosopher, Sartre. I especially remember that you thought you were ugly. Utter nonsense. May I repeat this: that idea is pure horse manure. Who cares about standards? Who cares about fashion models? You were alive, thirsty for life, fresh as a newborn, endowed with an artistic flair, craving the best in life. You were the most beautiful person I had ever seen up until then. When we met, we were both away from home : Saskatoon, for you, the greater Montréal area, for me. I couldn’t believe that a being so full of light, of joy, of a « I’m alive no matter what you think » kind of of attitude would stumble upon me, inspire me, aspire to intimacy with me. It delighted me to no ends. I know we had our moments, but I always resisted thinking ill of you, especially after our separation. I felt the spark of life emanating directly from your soul, and that will stay with me forever.

I didn't have the pleasure to meet Chuck, but I am a good friend of James and through all of the colorful, adventurous and wonderful stories retold by James I feel like I knew Chuck.
Jame's and Chuck shared a love for life, travel, bowling and a great brew! James would light up whenever he spoke of Chuck and for any of us to be so blessed to find a life long love/partner are indeed very fortunate.
Jame's, Chuck has shared as much of this journey in life with you as was able, you now get to keep the torch lit and have the honour of sharing and inspiring other to live their lives as the two of you and your kittes did......reakly enjoying every moment.
Those of us who have loved and lost know that this will not be an easy path, let the memories and your love for Chuck light the way for you. He will be with you always as will I and all those that have been lucky enough to love you and Chuck.
Forever in my thoughts, Karren

I am not sure how to start really as I am still in denial that you have left us Chuck.. Chuck was a great colleague and dear friend. There are so many memories of good times we have shared in BCD office. It was really fun time. still remember you teasing me and calling me your senior since I was two months older than you, our jokes about winning big Lottery and going in limo together to collect the money. I am so glad we have kept in touch later as well. Chuck was a great personality, so lively, helpful. It's a shock and so unfair to lose him like this so soon. You will always be in our thoughts my friend. Now cruise around in heaven and make everyone happy there. Miss you. RIP.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the rainbow bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of
meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet passes, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were maimed are made whole.
They play together all day.
There is only one thing missing:
They are not with the special person
who loved them on Earth.
Each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring!
And this one runs from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you take them in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again, and you look
once more into the eyes of your trusting friend.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated.

Dear Chuck, my friend and my brother from another father,
Words cannot describe my sadness of your unexpected illness and untimely passing!
You were my friend and the person I would go to for advice in work and life in general. You were always positive and encouraging; respectful of my feelings and so caring. We almost shared a birthday and you never forgot to call me, no matter where in the world you were. I will miss your laughter and your playful teasing. You were larger than life and a piece of my heart went to Heaven with you. Miss you my brother and I will love you forever.
Dear James and family, please accept my deepest condolences! May God give you strength in this difficult time.
Rest in Peace my brother, a beautiful angel!

Chuck, I will miss our joke that you were my "Brother from another mother" and I was your "Sister from another mister". You loved to tell me about your Mom and Dad and I would share stories about my parents. I will miss your friendship and our talks.
Rest in Peace my dear friend.

Chuck I am terribly saddened by your passing. You were a beautiful human being. You were a joy to work with, talk too, tell jokes, listen to your advice and your lovely travels and cruising. Your love for James was unfailing and for the cats. It will not be the same if and when if at all we can get back to working in travel and to realize you are not with us will be painful to say the least. God bless you and will miss our friendly banter. Hope you are cruising the world up in heaven with less pain. Love you forever Sue Bruder and family xxxxoooo

Chuck, you will be so missed. I will miss your jokes and laughter and our ongoing “ my hot garbage man” joke. “ I will never understand why God took you so early but he must have needed you more. I can’t promise not to shed more tears but I can promise to laugh at the funny memories and to love every bit of life as you did. Look down on us all and enjoy the new life above with no pain and only laughs and giggles. Fly high my friend. I will miss you

A great spirit has passed but will never be forgotten. Chuck was my brother’s childhood friend and I was the annoying baby sister tagging along. How the two of them tolerated me and I often wondered why but so grateful they did. Chuck will always be a beloved childhood friend but in fact is a forever friend as he always included me in his world and he knew how much I loved him.
James and to all of Chuck’s family,
May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.
