Obituary of Aurore Marie Corinne Charlebois

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of our Mom, Aurore at Prairie Spring Personal Care Home on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 90.

She is lovingly remembered by her children; Elaine (Daryl) Dawson, Ron (Cathy), Len, Denise (Bob) Gilewicz, Bob (Chris); fourteen grandchildren: Erin (R.J.) Doobay, Kristin (Greg) Hetterly, Paul (Elyse Lalonde) Dawson, Jamie (Kevin) Wright, Jenn MacMillan, Michelle (Michael) Lauen, Tyler (Cara) Kuzma, Rebecca Kuzma (Joshua Watt) and Ashley Kuzma, Mathew, Jocelyn, and Steven Gilewicz, Dylan and Anson Charlebois; and 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, a grandson and her loving husband Geoffrey of 65 years.

Mom was born on August 14, 1930 in Lamoureux, Alberta. She was the youngest of nine children. Mom moved to Saskatoon after marrying Dad in 1953. They raised their five children here and after retiring moved to Cochrane, Alberta and later to Ajijic, Mexico. They lived in Mexico for 15 years before returning to Saskatoon.

Mom spent our early years as a homemaker, later working at a clothing store and then working as an administrator with Dad at Charlebois Roofing. Mom was an awesome cook, enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. She was very supportive and enjoyed watching her children's various activities. She loved to watch figure skating and curling and enjoyed fishing with Dad. Mom had a great singing voice and played piano. Mom belonged to the Kinette and K-ette club in Saskatoon. Mom and Dad loved to travel. They were lucky enough to explore many countries in the world. They stepped foot on all 7 continents.

The family would like to thank the staff of Prairie Spring Personal Care Home for the care Mom received for the last year. As per Aurore's wishes, no funeral will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RUH Foundation-Parkinson Research Fund.
