Obituary of Debie Poncelet
“Time is what you make of it”
Debie peacefully passed away February 16, lovingly surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Debie was born to Ethel and Tom Kuntz on April 22. She married Robert Poncelet and raised three beautiful daughters; Arielle, Soleil, and Tayler while residing on a farm near Viscount. Debie’s relationships were lifelong, whether it was Regina, Saskatoon or Viscount that she called home.
Debie was very active in her community. Her zest for life could be seen during family gatherings, school events, many of her daughters activities and numerous years of drama performances. She enjoyed her career as an education assistant at Viscount Central School. She loved working with children and often spoke fondly of her time spent with them.
Moments of joy could be found whenever Deb was around. She treated everyone equally, with love and compassion. Many wonderful memories were made around Christmas, as this was her favourite season. She delighted in holidays, sharing family history, vacations, wine, Earl Grey tea, concerts, performing, and being a patron of the arts. She was always reading novels, listening to music, and watching the food channel. She was a fantastic cook, gardener, and seamstress.
Deb was courageous, fun-loving, vibrant and free spirited. Her beautiful life was too short but she left so many amazing memories. She passed away after a strong journey with cancer. Even through her diagnosis, Debie remained optimistic and took it upon herself to seize every moment. She is survived by her loving husband, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren Oscar and Amelia. Along with her brother and sister, Murray and Sue and numerous relatives. Predeceased by cherished family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If you feel inclined to make donations, they can be made to www.careandsharesaskatoon.com.
