Veronica Lucier

Obituary of Veronica Josephine Lucier

Veronica Josephine Lucier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica Lucier on February 17, 2021, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is survived by her son Dion Lucier (Rachelle), her daughter Tania Schultz (Adam), and granddaughters Akaysha Ducheck, Paige Lucier, Tegan Schultz, and Breanna Schultz.  She is also survived by her siblings, Henry, Mary and Alice, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; John & Marie Lousie Lucier, her sisters; Lousie, Bernice, Edna.

Veronica grew up in Leask, SK. She was the last child of 7 to John and Marie Louise Lucier. She moved to Saskatoon in the early 80’s to raise her children and find employment.

She worked majority of her life in the food service industry, retiring upon her illness from Baba’s Perogies. After retirement she continued her passion for cooking and cooked from home to point where her family would get frequent phone calls to come pick up food as she had no room in the freezer.

Mom Loved to play Bingo…truly was her most loved past time. Her love of bingo was such that when we would introduce her to someone new, that person would reply “I know your mom, from the Bingo”.

She loved crime TV, old country music, knitting and loved to garden. She was as stubborn as they come, enduring a lot of pain and loss in her lifetime that made her work much harder to get what she wanted. Mom was a strong Metis woman who was proud of her culture and roots.

Huge thank you to Glengarda Hospice for making her final days full of comfort, kindness and compassion.

Upon the request of Veronica, she did not want a service, and her cremated remains to be released to her Son & Daughter.

Though your body was bruised and your spirit unwavering, you can now rest in peace. You have made an impact in many peoples lives, now go and be with the ones you have lost before.

Rest in peace our dear sweet Momma.
