We felt a great sadness when we were informed of Muriel's passing. Our thoughts and condolences are with Jack, Elaine and Doug. Muriel was a kind, supportive and engaged neighbour, spouse, mother and volunteer and she will be greatly missed.
I have so many fond memories of Muriel; from standing in a cold Emma Lake helping kids to learn to waterski, to making snacks for fire pits that were probably far too big, or letting us stay up to midnight playing card games as group of 10 to 14 year olds. Summers at Emma Lake were just fun and Muriel was always there to insure everyone was enjoying themselves but still safe! Jack and Muriel's wedding gift to Doug and I, was a beautiful Muriel made quilt and it holds a special place in our own cabin, in Alberta. A tribute and memory to Canadiana summers at the cabin.
Volunteering and engagement in Elaine and Doug's activities was another aspect I will always remember of Muriel. She volunteered for highland dancing competitions and was still there in the audience watching year end dance performances when Elaine and I were in our senior university years, long after our highland dancing days.
Muriel's friendship and caring will never be forgotten. We are so sorry for your loss and know that we are thinking of you.
