Obituary of Darrell Wayne Duchscher

It is with deep sorrow that that family announces the passing of Darrell Wayne Duchscher on January 28, 2021 at the age of 62. He will be remembered lovingly by his wife, Dana; son, Steven (special friend, Kenedee); and daughter, Taylor. He also leaves behind his brothers, Don (Candice), son Andy; and Gary (Cindy) children, Jackie, Howie, and Catherine. Darrell was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Josephine; in-laws, Arnold and Agnes Egler; and sisters-in-law Annette and Sheri.
Darrell was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. He attended St. Francis School and Holy Cross High School then completed his education at SIAST in Moose Jaw. Darrell worked as a journeyman electrician, foreman/supervisor for PTW Energy Service (formerly Pyramid Corporation) for the past 25 years at the Cargill canola crushing plant in Clavet.
In 1993 Darrell met his soul mate Dana Egler of Saskatoon, SK. Six years later they were married. Darrell and Dana were blessed with their first child Steven in 2000, three years later their second blessing Taylor joined the family. Darrell was a dedicated husband and father, and enjoyed numerous trips to the Bahamas, Panorama, Whistler and Jasper with his family and friends. As the children grew up Darrell ensured that their interests were supported and nurtured. Spending countless hours in hockey rinks, skating arenas, and golf courses. Darrell made sure his encouragement was heard by his children and fans alike. Summers were spent at the family cabin located at Big Shell Lake, SK. He was able to share his passion for the water with his children spending numerous hours tubing, surfing, skiing and wake boarding. Darrell was a competitive jump, slalom and trick water skier in his youth, and loved sharing his knowledge and experience with his family and friends. Darrell also spent his time enjoying hunting, fishing, quading, and camping with family and friends. His most recent passion was snowmobiling, sharing the sport with his son.
The family would like to extend special thanks to neurosurgeon Dr. L Hnenny; neurosurgery nurse and friend, Aaron Gardner; and ICU nurses, David, Annette, Jody, Erin and Lauren for their excellent care of and compassion during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
