I knew Doug mostly professionally, but our sons knew each other. My son and Evan went to school together, if I recall. Doug and I met through our businesses. I had a small electronic repair business and Doug and I would meet occasionally at a supplier we both used. We weren't close friends, but we both had a passion for repair and tube type equipment. My sincerest belated condolences to his family, both blood and business. R.I.P. Doug.

Deepest Sympathy Dear Neice, Cheryl, Evan, Bryan, Jon and families. I was privileged to have a phone visit with Doug two weeks ago. His cheery mannerism
made me feel I was the "sick one". We talked, laughed and even cried a little as
he couldn't finish the story he started. Blessed be Doug's Memory. Love & Prayers

I had the honor of meeting and knowing Doug in the mid 70's. He also joined our rock band "Breakwater" as lead guitarist. Yes, he was a little crazy while in the band, but that was Doug. His playing was exceptional and inspiring. One of Doug's fond memories from the band was when I fell off my amp during a rock concert. He always had a good laugh about that!
We had many talks about Christianity after he got saved. He always told it like it was, but always had a smile to make you feel loved.
I wonder if Doug is teaching the heavenly realm how to play guitar....
I will be praying for Cheryl and family as God leads.
Yes, you will be missed my friend.

Doug was a world class human being and a world class amplifier technician who fixed many musician's amps amd electronics including mine. More importantly he built custom amps that were unrivaled in tone and quality including one for me. But most importantly, he was a dear friend whom I will greatly miss. He had a heart of gold. Doug loved a good laugh and I believe his sense of humour got him through many times when health issues arose. He was super funny but also a very deep thinker as well. Doug was a genius with anything that had a circuit or wires in it. My very best to Cheryl and his boys whom I'm sure are so very proud of him. I will miss you my dear friend but I am glad you don't have any more pain. It was very hard to watch your health fail and I wish things had not been so hard for you. Your smile and memory will live on in for all of us so blessed to have known you.
Love, Mike Murphy

There was so much to appreciate and love about Doug. He was the first of our long time friends to become a granddad. It was a pleasure to hear him talk about his grandkids. The laughter they brought him was a worthy reward for the years of laughter he gave to others. Doug felt and responded deeply to life. He often added to the flavour of our own lives with his authentic "no holds barred" opinions, that challenged us to respond and rethink our perspectives. You knew he cared if he needled you a bit.
He had a remarkable ability to express deep feelings of worship to his Saviour through his guitar. We are grateful to have heard him play. Doug's many, many talents allowed him the unique ability to reinvent his career path several times. He found a way. We will really miss him, his grin and the way he noticed and listened to what most of us missed. Peace, Doug. Rock with the angels around God's throne. Much love,
Bob and Cathy

I considered Doug a dear friend, who I admired and respected. I admired him as a person, and I respected him for his unrivalled skills in the field of electronics. He emailed me in the summer of 2020 and said ... “ya, electronics is my thing”.
As a guitarist, I met Doug when he was doing repairs on one of my amplifiers. After that he became my exclusive amp technician.
On our first visit, it was apparent that he was sensitive to the subtleties of sound. His inventiveness allowed him to capture those musical subtleties and make them available through the guitar amplifier. Besides his stellar repair work, he built his own brand-name amps which garnered rave reviews.
Every visit with Doug was a rewarding experience for me. Professionally he settled for nothing but the best.
Doug was proud of his family.
I’ll miss him.

I had the privilege of getting to know Doug briefly while we were in the Self-Employment Program at Global Infobrokers in 2005. I regret that our small group lost touch after our program completed. I am truly sorry for your loss.
