Mary Riben, age 98 of Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep, on January 24, 2021. Mary is survived by her sister Mabel Androsoff; son William Riben (Mercedes), grandchildren Clayton Riben, Celina Riben (Bryce Reiter) and great-grandchildren Leif, Mischa and Merrik; daughter Marion Burak (Jim); daughter-in-law Judy Riben, grandson Paul Riben (Irina) and great-grandchildren Justin, Jayden (Ina) and Meela, granddaughter Juanita Menard (Dan) and great-grandchildren Leanna, Kurt and Kylie, grandson Carl Riben (Maria) and great-grandchildren Jade (Pat Hupaelo and their son Bryton), Desmond, Tristan, and Ashlyn.
Mary was predeceased by her father Mike G. Popoff, mother Emma Popoff (Kalesnikoff), step-father Sam J. Popoff, in-laws Peter and Hanna Reban, husband William P. Riben, sisters Angeline Fofonoff and Pauline Vershagin, and son Paul Riben. Mary was a gentle and sweet soul who loved singing and gardening. She will be missed by many, including her cherished pets. Mary was a lifetime member of the Blaine Lake Doukhobor Society. A private family service and gravesite burial is planned.
