Obituary of Anthony Hayden
Anthony (Tony) Hayden passed away peacefully on January 19 at the age of 93 at the Oliver Lodge Long Term Care Home in Saskatoon where he had become a resident. Tony is survived by his wife Jean, of 68 years, sons Gregory (Michelle) of Calgary A.B., Brett (Barbara) of Squamish B.C. and Richard (Chelsea) of Asquith Sask., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tony was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Marie Antonovich and sister Lillian Simonson. Sadly, two children were predeceased, Garnet Hayden and Dalyce Holm. Tony was predeceased by two grandchildren, Mason Hayden and Nicholas Holm. Tony was born in Saskatoon and received his education at King George elementary school and Technical Collegiate Institute. He started his working life employed as a fireman in the days before diesel power with Canadian Pacific Railways. At retirement he held the position of General Yardmaster for Canadian National Railways in Saskatoon. Tony’s interests through life included hockey, football, horse breeding and racing. He had a real soft spot for animals and children. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, there will be a small service for family members on Tuesday, January 26 at the Saskatoon Funeral Home located at 338 Fourth Avenue North.
