Erin was a very creative person, she had interest in many things in her life. Erin attended SIAST completing her grade 12 and furthered her education taking a paralegal course for post-secondary education. She loved to read, always could catch her with a good book in her hand, Erin loved a good laugh, she had this distinct laugh that was very contagious, but different for happy or mischievous…most of the time it was mischievous. She loved to be around family, especially when we would have family barbecues, you could see her doing her dance she did when she ate good food and the look of pure satisfaction on her face and she would make this sound of pure delight like it was the best thing she had ever eaten. Erin always showed a passion for everything that she did, she loved art as well. Even through her battle with cancer, she kept her spirits up and tried to leave her mark so she would never be forgotten. She would tell us "I love you. Moon and Stars" she did this so that it would pass down for generations to come so she will be remembered always.
A special thanks to the palliative care staff at St. Paul’s hospital for taking very great care of Erin, and keeping her comfortable and being so kind and caring to our family.
Erin touched many lives in her short years here with us. She loved her literature, so we will end this with a poem that she would have loved.
I'm home!
Now I am gone, release me, let me go!
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears; Be happy that we had so many beautiful years.
I gave to you my love.
You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown, but now it is time I travel on alone. So grieve for me a while if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away, for life goes on; though you cannot see me or touch me, I'll be near, and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all my love around you, soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say "welcome home!"
To the Moon and Stars Erin we love you so much, and we are gonna miss you.
Till we meet again.
