A gentle heart stopped beating…
Our beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma went peacefully to her heavenly home on November 23, 2020 after a brief illness. Mom was born on March 15, 1927 to Raymond and Eglantine Willick at their Crown Hill farm home near Marcelin, Saskatchewan. On October 22, 1946 she married the love of her life Raymond Diehl. They spent the next 66 years together before his passing in 2012. Together they raised five children and operated a successful business, Ray’s Transport.
Mom was a faith filled, kind and gentle soul with a beautiful smile who will be forever missed. She enjoyed time well spent with family and friends. Sunday morning breakfast with her siblings was a highlight, and there was always time for card playing and games. Mom loved building puzzles until the wee hours with her condo girlfriends, crafting, outings to the casino and driving her Lincoln right up until a month ago. A highlight of her 90th year was a trip to Paris, France with Richard to visit her granddaughter Tracy.
Mom is survived by her sons Richard (Darlene), Dennis (Heather); daughters Arlene (Ed) Fairbrother, Brenda (Jason) Jabusch, daughter-in-law Lorraine Diehl (John Duncan). Grandchildren Tracy Diehl (Shawn Hinch), Kerri Diehl (Paul Litzenberger), Brett (Korryn) Diehl, Melissa Diehl (Wasseem El Massri), Holly LeFrancois (John Ermel), Collette LeFrancois (Jeremy deBeer), Cristin (Derek) Sawchuk, Michael (Kelly) Fairbrother, Katherine (Benn) Smith, Cole (Miranda) Jabusch, Jan (Tawny) Ubell, Jade (Tanner) Cox. Sisters Loretta Lamontagne, Angeline (Pete) Harbaruk, Elaine (Doug) Rutten and bother Richard (Cec) Willick. Brothers-in-law Claude Leblanc and George Marquis, sisters-in-law Marie Trembley, Rose (Claire) Boarse and Florence Diehl.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Ray, son Gordon, granddaughter Sheri Diehl, infant grandchildren Denis Diehl and Grace Ermel and son-in-law Denis LeFrancois.
