We are deeply saddened at Gerry's passing. We have cherished Gerry and Avona’s friendship since our high school days. Gerry has given such inspiration and direction to our lives and provided many others with the same. His love for the visual arts has spilled over to many of his fellow teachers and students. He was the go to guy for anything related to photography along his many other talents. Gerry was always willing to share those talents. Thank you for that. Our trips around the province were filled with friendship and enlightenment on the beautiful landscapes the prairies had to offer. He was the guidance behind my first book that I published. Our coffee get togethers with Gerry and Avona were always enlightening and provided a well-needed positive perspective on life. Gerry you will be missed and all our prayers go with you and to Avona and the family in this time of sorrow. All our love John and Heather.

Hi Avona and children, i was sorry to read in today's paper tht Gerry has died. Although we have not maintained contact since we both retired I remember him fondly as a very gentle soul. I have fond memories of all of the Savage children in my English classes. I pray for the repose of Gerry's soul. I am sure that he is in the loving arms of his saviour and his family that preceded him. I extend my sincerest condolences to you and all of your children. Bill Michaluk
