We have missed Murray in the Dining Hall at N.B. He would always sit with us for awhile, with his apron on, and tell us a few jokes. Murray was never without a smile and just brought joy to everyone's heart.
When Murray and Doris were getting married we had a shower for them in my parent's home (Assman) with the Regina assembly present. Doris was living in Regina at the time, so we got to know them well. Lots of fun was had by all.
Every soul is a unique and beautiful gift from God. Murray will always be remembered as a special blessing.
With Our Sympathy to the family.

I remember, as a teenager, Murray came to help my dad build a shop. He stayed with our family for several weeks. One day, he asked me if I knew how to get wisdom. He said he'd leave the question with me to ponder. I could not in all my thinking figure out what could possibly be the answer. All my guesses were not what he was looking for. Finally, he asked me to look up the verse in Psalms 111:10. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..." It was kind of an ah ha moment for me. It gave me something more to think about.
His wife, came to stay with us for a short time when my mom was away during this time, too. She could make any left overs taste absolutely wonderful! She would turn the basics from the past meal into a totally new dish. We also, marveled at how she could figure out what our favorite dishes were. She confessed that she went through my mom's cookbooks and made what was on the most soiled pages. She was so sweet to us. I really had a soft spot in my heart for her.
They both gave so willing and blessed us during this time. They were so generous and practically helpful. We were very grateful.

My favourite memories of Murray are in the kitchen at North Battleford camp. He was a joy to work with and always found something to fix or make our work easier or more enjoyable. Handles returned on broken utensils, stools created from spare parts of broken chairs or the floor being always clean when he was around. Meanwhile he always shared a smile or a chuckle. I'm sure heaven has no broken bits for him to fix but it is no doubt celebrating the work of a man who shared God's love for anything he set his mind and heart to. Blessings to the family as you treasure all of your special memories.
