Mel was a lovely, gracious and outgoing woman with a joy of learning and teaching others. I remember her getting a computer and learning about emailing and the internet, which she promptly turned around and taught to others in her age group in Arizona over the winters. She made the best marshmallows from scratch and always enjoyed a lunch out! When my mom moved into Primrose Chateau Mel hosted a welcome party for her. She was such a loving and wonderful friend to our family.
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Auntie Mel. From my childhood I have lots of great memories of our visits with her when she lived in Unity. I especially remember her great smile and laugh!
These are from our place - Christmas 2009 (I think). Mel was spending the winter in Osoyoos at one of the local motels as a 'snowbird'. The peach flan on the countertop in the fourth photo was made by her and we had it for dessert. It was delicious! We loved having her for Christmas.
