Dear Wayne, Sean & Mel and family, Sarah, Jenn & Kris and family, Jim&Gwen and Family, Margaret & Alex,
We are so sad to learn of Barb’s passing. Barb was a remarkable woman, wife, sister, auntie and Granny. I know how important all her family was to her. She was so proud of every one of you.
How very difficult to receive such a diagnosis so young and to battle it for fourteen years. Yet Barb faced it head on with her strong spirit, grace and dignity.
I feel blessed to have had Barb as a friend since she moved to Saskatoon in Grade 12 as Barb Drake. She made her mark immediately at EHCI with her boundless energy, joie de vivre, humour and amazing athletic talent. She contributed the same to the UofS and to the larger community.
Barb was one of those rare people that could always make a person feel welcomed, included and important and even when much time had passed by, as it so often does in life, Barb could just pick up where things were left off.
I have such good memories of special times spent with Barb and pals, oftentimes the girls just all hanging out with mom Mary at the family home. I will dearly miss having Barb in my life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you throughout this difficult time.
❤️ Brenda and Lars Nissen
