Cathy was a gem and a great person to see at 8 in the morning at the YWCA
She was always upbeat and made one feel that way as well. I will miss her smile
and enthusiasm.

I never met Cathy personally, which is very unfortunate. But I definitely heard a lot about her and admired tremendous work that she did for improving active transportation in Saskatoon. She truly advocated for this. She never was able to do a talk as part of our Sustainable Speaker Series in September of this year, but I really grateful for her willingness to do this. She was a very inspirational woman. My deepest condolences to her family, friends, and whoever knew her and/or was inspired by her!

Cathy was a member of our Fitness Centre at YWCA Saskatoon these last few years. Since her passing I have had so many members mention to me their friendships with her and how much they will all miss her. As will I. Cathy regularly attended our functional fitness classes and her and I had many chats after class about health and wellness and of course cycling. Cathy also volunteered as the chase bike at each of our three YWCA Shine a Light Fun Runs each of the last three falls; with lights all over herself and her bike...what great memories! On behalf of the YWCA Family, I offer our condolences to Cathy's family. We will all miss her. Fred Dyck, Director of Fitness, YWCA Saskatoon

Cathy has always been a truly wonderful person in our family. Her passion for her family; cycling; creativity, and cooking inspired us all. My love goes out to Trent, John & Diane; Peter & Yasue during this difficult time. How we all enjoyed Quilt Fest, and the excellent trip to the Caribou in search of ancestors last summer.
May peace be with you, Cathy!

Cathy shared a precious gift with me, the gift of her friendship. Every week I looked forward to a walk along the riverbank followed by a lively discussion of local and world events, a sharing of our own personal lives and how the world could be reshaped to benefit all. And donuts aside, who else could inspire three "older" retired gals to get up on a cold minus 30 below winter morning to walk the bridges before sunrise? But we will continue because that is what Cathy would want us to do and we will ask each other many times, "What would Cathy have thought about that?" My life is so much richer from having spent time with Cathy.
My deepest sympathy to Trent and all of Cathy's wonderful family. My heart really hurts for you.

Cathy was a very special part of our family. She was definitely a person who liked to be in charge of whatever she was involved in, even as a young child. We spent several summer holidays with her mum, dad and two brothers John and Peter. She will be missed and never forgotten.

I’ve crossed several paths over the years with Cathy starting with playing soccer with her daughter Sarah as a kid, then again in the physiotherapy world and then through our passion of cycling through Saskatoon Cycles. We went for a bike ride this week in Northern Saskatchewan on the rocks and again along the river in Saskatoon today in her honour. Condolences to Sarah, Trent and family. Bree Rooke, Calgary

I have known Cathy for many years as a physiotherapy colleague. She has given tirelessly to our profession both as our College Registrar for many years as well as on many committees. She has always been a dedicated and compassionate physiotherapist in her work, and especially loved the geriatric population. Her passion is her trademark and after she retired, the passions that she had developed for cycling and quilting continued on. So did her desire to socialize with her friends and fellow retired P.T. colleagues as the Friday morning coffee get together grew in numbers. But she also was always busy promoting her love of cycling, advocacy and adventure. If you can, rest in peace Cathy, knowing that you have made a wonderful mark on the world.

Cathy was a fellow Physiotherapist, I met her first through Long Term Care therapist meetings. When we therapists retired we would meet at the Broadway Roastery on 8th Friday mornings, sometimes there were just 2 of us, often more. Cathy would send out reminders when she was going.
She was a sympathetic listener for our various challenges, a passionate bike rider, (even in winter she would arrive, dressed for the weather, on her bike.) She was a passionate promoter of her caused, hosting tea's, and since Covid, started the Friday group meeting in her back yard,
Cathy would have helped my choose a bike next spring, my first for 20 years! Definitely her influence!
Cathy, I will miss you.
Thinking of all her family, (my daughter Rachel West knew her daughter Sarah) remember all the wonderful times, and laugh a lot!

I met Cathy through one of the many Jane's Walks she helped set up each year. She gave great insight as we would walk from location to location along the way. Always caring and insightful, she was quick to welcome each and every person she met.
Jane Jacobs' life is celebrated each year because she was caring and motivated to act on what she felt was right for this world. Cathy Watts taught us how we should change our future in Saskatoon. More grass roots than big box that is for sure. We will miss seeing her at events in the future, but I believe her values and ideals will linger in all of us that were fortunate enough to have met and spent any amount of time with her.

Hamish and Olive, what an incredibly bright light your grandma was and she will forever continue to shine bright within you both. My heart is with you, your mom and dad, your aunties, grandpa and all your grandma’s extended family and friends who love her dearly. I wish you all find comfort and peace in all the glorious memories shared and within one another amidst the profound loss and grief. And I hope you feel her presence and spirit all around and within you and especially when you ride your bikes.
Love, Shelly Prosko and family

Here is a photo of an ùnforgettable early spring bike camping trip Cathy & Trent organised a couple years ago. They pampered all of our large group tirelessly. Just two weeks ago Cathy and Trent had us over for another amazing dinner. You could never lack great food and great conversation if Cathy was around. Nobody has ever been a better embodiment of the spirit of Saskatoon. Cathy brought out the best in all of us. Trent and family, our deepest sympathies. Cathy you will be missed. We are blessed to have experienced your example and inspiration. We are honoured to help continue your work.

Cathy- I only stayed with you and Trent for a week, but I knew immediately that you'd be on my short list of "women I want to be like when I grow up". Strong & determined, but equally gentle and loving- and so fiercely optimistic about what we can accomplish with our time here. I was and am so inspired by your energy and your positive spirit. You and dear Trent deserved so many more years together, but the ones you had you lived very fine indeed. May we all do as well. I will think of you every time I am randomly inspired to sing "Oh Canada" to my friends here in the USA. And will think of you and miss you often just because. To a wonderful soul- much love
