Obituary of Ashlee Gayle Pashovitz
Ashlee Vangool Pashovitz - April 8, 1979 – August 27, 2020
Ashlee passed away with her family by her side.
Ashlee’s journey through life was strewn with obstacles which she tackled with a quiet strength, determination, and a strong faith in the Lord. In her teens she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease known as Von Hippel Lindau Syndrome (VHL). This disease was the cause of many brain and kidney surgeries. She faced all these roadblocks with courage and willpower; always waking up from procedures with a tremendous smile on her face, happy to have survived and ready to face life head on once again. She lived her life to the fullest and was always optimistic. Her smile embraced those around her.
She married Mark Pashovitz on July 10, 2004 and together they welcomed Andrew and Jax into the family on January 5, 2014. Her heart ached when she had to say goodbye to Andrew soon after. She participated fully in the farm life with Mark and Jax, growing an extensive garden as well as driving combines and other farm machinery and feeding the crew during harvest.
Her family was her life.
In July of 2018 she was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal cancer which only intensified her fight for life, determined to see Jax grow up. Unfortunately, this was not to be, as she reluctantly had to give up on her chemo treatments just three weeks ago. Ashlee was selfless, kind, and energetic. She was a gift given to us for a short while and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Ashlee spent her last week at home, surrounded by family and friends and under the loving care of Mark, Jax, Bev, Frank, and her siblings.
Ashlee will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark, her precious son, Jax, her parents, Bev and Frank Vangool, her brothers; Brian Vangool and Greg (Jenise) Vangool, sisters; Vanessa (Rob) McKellep and Jennifer (Gary) Pashovitz, Mark’s parents; Floyd and Ethel Pashovitz, brothers-in-law; Gary (Jennifer) Pashovitz, Dennis (Karen) Pashovitz, sister-in-law; Lenore (Doug) Zimmer and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian VHL Alliance would be greatly appreciated. A Memorial Service will be planned in the near future.
“Ashlee and Andrew, may you rest in the arms of God and may the peace of the Lord be with you”
