Obituary of James Herman Arnold
Jim was born in Millet Alberta to Eric and Lillian Arnold. At 18, Dad left the farm to work on the railway. Dad joined the RCMP in 1958 and was stationed in Estevan Saskatchewan where he met his wife Joyce. Dad was stationed in 6 different communities across Saskatchewan throughout his RCMP career and after 25 years of service, he retired from the RCMP and became a Traffic Court Prosecutor for the next 10 years.
Dad loved cars and driving. As a younger family, we would drive across Western Canada visiting friends and family, without air conditioning. In retirement, Mom and Dad took long road trips in the summer and loved going to Hawaii every winter. Dad was a handyman who loved woodworking particularly building and refinishing furniture. Dad was passionate about local and national politics, which influenced many a family dinner conversation. He was extremely organized. Everyone should have a garage like Dad’s. We will miss his jokes, famous sayings and finger fighting.
Jim is survived by Joyce, Chris (Toby), Bart (Jo-Anne); grandchildren Cydney, Shelby, Isaiah and Nehemiah.
No public service is planned due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
