Dear Lorna and family I was sad to read of your Mom's passing. We lived across from your family on Margaret St. I had the privilege of spending time with you and your Mom last summer in Ben Eion at Anna and Dave's cottage and I was amazed when I saw your Mom go down those stairs and then swimming in the Bras dor lakes. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time. You will always have wonderful memories tucked in your heart.
Stay safe

Albert, Rosalind, Lorna and your families we are so saddened by the passing of our beloved Aunt Goldie. Beverly and I have such wonderful memories starting way back to going to Red Islands for the summer, learning to play cards, swimming and so much more. Goldie would be driving the truck mother in the front cab with her and Albert, Bev and I sitting in the back of the truck driving to Red Islands. We have done a lot together throughout the years our families and yours. Boxing Day will never be the same. All those years going to Russ and Goldie's playing cards and having lots of laughs. Goldie is with our beautiful mother, her sister Loretta playing "scat" and making sure Russ has something to eat. Love your cousins Ellen, Nicole, Gary Landry and Beverly (Allen) Andrew and Miranda Young.

I have very fond memories of your family as we grew up on Margaret Street and Cornishtown Road and were backyard neighbours. Your Mom and Dad were always so kind to me always ready to lend a hand whether it was adjusting my homemade Halloween mask or teaching me how to hit a golf ball on the jail field. Special memories for sure. My sincere condolences on your loss.

Had to wait a while for Ian at McDonald's as he had missed the PEI ferry. Those were the Aloette days with Dawn. You should remember me as Sharon Burton.

Lorna, Rosalind and Albert: so sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this difficult time. Goldie was the last one of that generation from Margaret Street. We certainly had a unique neighborhood to grow up in. I remember how kind Goldie was to host a shower type gathering of neighbours for me when I went in Nurses training. She was good to come sit with Mom on her back deck and have a chat and always was happy to see me when I visited Sydney.

Dear Lorna, Jim and family,
We are so sorry to hear of your mother's (grandmother's) passing. Our boys really thought that Goldie was so sweet and smiley and they looked forward to another visit at your house. It is quite a testament to Goldie that she left such a strong impression upon our boys in a very short amount of time! I, too, was taken in with her pleasant disposition and cute little laugh! What a beautiful lady! We are sure to keep you all in our family prayers.

We are deeply saddened for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing others are thinking about you at this most difficult time.

Family and Friends,
Mother may have passed on, but her memories will always live on within us. I was fortunate enough to take my beautiful family to visit her last August where she was able to meet my amazing wife Cami and her beautiful great grand daughter Audrey Marie.
I was a different grandchild, i came a little earlier than most would have wanted..ha ha. but Mother was there with mom (and Aunt Lorna) and raised me!!
So Mother, thank you for your sacrifices, your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for me. Where you are now, I know you are in a much happier place (with Poppy). I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my "Mother". So i will leave you all with this:
"God Saw You Getting Tired" unknown author
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you and whispered,
“Come to Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best
We love you Mother and we are ALL happy you are home with Poppy Russ...xxx
