Obituary of Clarence Williams
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Butch Williams. Born Clarence Henry to Emil and Emma Wilhelm on the farm in Lampman, SK. He received his grade 12 in Lampman. He then joined his father and they ran Williams’ Dairy until 1951. He became a Municipal Secretary in Benson, SK and then in the mid 50’s he joined the Federal Government as a Customs Officer. He served firstly, in North Portal, SK and in the early 60’s moved to Saskatoon and remained at his job there for 30+ years. Butch was always active in his community and served on several Boards: Luther Care, Cosmopolitan Club, and Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a very talented woodworker making furniture, and intricate wooden pictures and bowls which he donated to all his family and friends. He also belonged to a Wood Carvers group and very much enjoyed many years with his fellow carvers. He leaves to mourn his sons Russ (Melva), Keith, daughters-in-law Suzie and Brenda, grandchildren Jaime, Jay Michael (Jen), Carly (Mark), Ryan, Jessie, Kristen, Sheena and Luke and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as his sister Doris and sisters-in-law Ruth and Doris. He was predeceased by his loving and amazing wife Grace, sons Rick and Wayne, four brothers and two sisters. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at a future date. Donations in memory of Butch may be made to the Memorial Fund at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cosmopolitan Industries or a charity of choice.
