Obituary of Allan David James Flear
It is with great sadness that the family of Allan (Al) David James Flear announces his sudden passing at his care home residence on Monday, June 15, 2020. Allan was born on May 24, 1940 in Saskatoon and lived all his life here.
Allan was a Laborer and worked in the construction industry from 1962 to his retirement on May 1, 2001. He was a member of LIUNA 180 for 50 years. (In October 2012, he received a 50 Year Membership Certificate and a gold 50 Year Membership Card.) A few of the large construction jobs Allan worked at over the years were the following: the Sturdy Stone Centre, the Saskatoon City Hospital and SIAST Kelsey Campus. He was a very conscientious and hard working person who seldom missed work due to sickness, throughout all his years in construction.
Allan married Eileen Gladys (Gordon) on May 18, 1968. They had 2 children, Kathy and Kenny. Allan was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Ernest (Ernie) Flear and then by his wife, Eileen (June 23, 2013). He is survived by his children Kathy and Kenny; his 2 grandchildren Jayden and Ashtyn; and his sister Hilda Wendland and her husband Dale.
Allan enjoyed playing cards, his favorite game was crib. In the last few years, he started reading and this was how he spent a lot of his time. For about the last 7 years, he lived in a personal care home in the Silverwood Heights area, close to his daughter, Kathy Flear.
There will be a private family service for Allan on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
