Shelley, I am so sorry for your father's recent death. Reading his obituary, it was so apparent what a wonderful life he lived. The few times I met him, it was equally apparent what a loved father and grandfather he was. I know you will miss him!

Shelley, Sherri and Christy, Jolyn and I send our deepest condolences to you on the passing of your loving Dad. We know that his family was Howard’s forever passion and motivation.
I had the good fortune to work with Howard in respective careers that both intersected and ran parallel over the course of almost 25 years. My better fortune was to have an evolving true friendship with Howard almost twice that long. I will miss his humour, his opinions, his honesty and his caring. Rest In Peace my friend.

Howard, Sheila and family moved into their Eastview home in 1970, the same year we bought our Eastview home just a half block away. Despite this we never met, but knew of each other....Howard in TV and me in radio. Then one evening in 1972, a phone call. It was Howard saying, "hi neighbor" asking how things were going at CKOM and would I like to try TV. Howard arranged the audition and when I began 2 weeks later he was a huge part of making my transition into TV work easy.
I always enjoyed his company. His attributes were many. He was a real leader, compassionate, creative, witty, and honest as the day is long. An amazing guy ! Vern Prior had a nick name for Howard...."Super Coope"
Sympathies to Howard's girls and their families on their loss.

I worked at CFQC-TV from 1971 until 2015. The photo I shared was one I took of Howard when he was Program Mgr. There are just too many memories of him to even begin to share here. He was an exceptional boss and a great friend and neighbour who I kept in touch with via email after he moved to Kelowna. I am truly sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
