Obituary of Maureen Jeanette Sather
Maureen Jeanette Sather (nee Benson)
April 30, 1952-May 5, 2020
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Mo. She was born in Tidworth, England on April 30, 1952, and passed on May 5, 2020, in Saskatoon, SK. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Rev Canon Roy W. Benson and June Benson, and her sister, Roberta Elkew. She is survived by her three daughters: Heidi Abbey-Der (Jason), Sheena Sather, and Sasha Sather; her prince and princess, Austin Abbey and Callandra Sather; her brothers, Michael Benson (Judy) and Stephen Benson; her sisters, Kathleen Olson (Jack) and Kim Bains; her fur babies, Jinx and Salem; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Maureen came to Canada in the summer of 1967 with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her hairdressing proficiency, mentor capabilities at Marvel Beauty School, work with the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, and her years of service with Saskatchewan Health as a home-care worker and the smiling face that admitted you into the Emergency Room at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Mo was a stubborn, free-spirited lady who liked to have fun and surround herself with friends and family. She enjoyed her books, tinkering in the garden, adventures, and spending time with her grandchildren most of all. If you were ever in need, she would give you anything she could, including the rock she sat on.
Mum will be remembered this way and she will always be in our hearts.
