Dear Art, Lauree, Curtis and Jeff,
Ken Jeffery told us of Judy's passing. While we lost contact in our adult lives, I have vivid... really vivid memories of the younger years. Art and Judy had a synergistic energy and smiles that would light up any room. I remember being envious of the amount of fun they could create, seemingly without effort. Judy and Gertie came to my first wedding - over 40 years ago - and were the life of the party. They added so much to the event. We offer our condolences to your family.

Dear Art, Lauree, Curtis and Jeff,
At Lauree’s request, Cousin Bob Brown called to advise us of Judy’s passing. We send our heartfelt condolences to each of you and your families. While we did not have many opportunities to spend time with Cousin Judy, our times with her were always filled with fun conversation and kibitzing. We still remember the sparkle in her eyes, when she provided advice to Marilyn and me at our wedding. May fond memories of Judy bring comfort to you and your families during this time of sorrow. Know that our hearts and our thoughts are with you all.
With sympathy,
Ken and Marilyn Jeffery

Art, Curt, Lauree, Jeff and families. We are so sorry for your loss! Judy was a special lady!! Every year the Woytiuk Christmas was blessed with a big bundle of hand made treats for everyone! Christmas ornaments, hand made dish clothes, scarves, neck warmers for everyone! Her love and generosity intertwined in each and every article, that’s the wonderful person Judy was. Following Christmas came January where we always had that ‘ great telephone visit’. This past January Brian and I both had a great visit with her. Although her health was not great she was her happy self, making us laugh as she always did. Today I wore my favourite lime green scarf she made for me, even though she was quick to say “ she only made that dreadful colour because I requested it”!! Judy will be remembered for ever ! We pray time will ease your pain and wonderful memories will heal your hearts.

I'm sorry to hear of Judy's passing, but am so very grateful to have had her in my life. Art, you and Judy are like grandparents to me and I have so many great memories of our families together at the lake. Thanksgivings with all the Shepherds the Hieberts, the Owens (and any other stragglers) were my favourite holidays. As a little girl I loved visiting Judy - she always knew how to have fun and always had something sweet to eat. Words fail me to say what a special person Judy was and what an important place in my life she held, but suffice it to say that she was very, very loved.
You all occupy a very special place in my heart, and you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Much love,
Daryl (Sean & Hutchinson Balou)

Lauree,
So sorry to hear about your mom. She was so warm and welcoming and had a great sense of humour.
I found this quote about moms and it seems so appropriate.
"A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take."
My thoughts are with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Rachelle

So sorry to see this great loss. Blessings to all the family, esp to Art. Our family lived next door to Art and Judy until my parents moved away because of infirmities in 1984. Judy was a kind, humorous, good hearted lady; the exact neighbour one could wish for. A great story teller, she could spin a fabulous yarn. She always was the first to ask how we were doing. Many of her parenting strategies and tactics were based on good humour and common sense. Great lessons for my own family-raising efforts just a few years later. She and Art made a great team. They did more than wallpaper together; they did rec rooms and built cabins. All with apparent good cheer. A wonderful lady. She and Art could make new friends faster than just about anybody else.

So many memories of my cousin Judy and her family. Judy n Art’s early summer visits to the coast with the baby...Lauree, who I will always remember playing on our back lawn, so cute, and of course the fun times when we all met up on our Prairie road trips. Also, the shenanigans that were orchestrated by Judy, and fully supported by Art......the wonderful wedding surprise Harv and I got from them and of course the hilarity of our Brown reunion in 1990! We are family, hear us roar to get ‘silly’! ....lol.
I am so sad and my heart goes out to Art, Lauree, Curtis, Jeff and their families for losing their soul mate and Mom. I can only hope that all of the wonderful memories of a life well lived, will bring smiles to help comfort you.
Hugs from the Nancy Brown-Sterns in Nanaimo.

Our family will always remember Judy on the deck at Big Shell Lake. She was a loving role model for our children who liked nothing more than going up the hill for a visit. Thanksgiving dinners, visiting on the deck or just sharing a laugh, Judy enriched our lives. As I write this, I look up at the Sheperd cabin and feel the loss. The Hiebert Family.
