Obituary of Lois Fay Tetz

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lois Fay Tetz at Preston Extendicare in Saskatoon Saskatchewan on March 27, 2020 at the age of 79. She will be remembered as a loving sister and devoted mother and grandmother. Born on September 14, 1940 Lois grew up on a farm in the Battlefords District. She and her siblings attended Battle River and Cleveland Schools by horse drawn sleigh. Times were hard back then and Lois suffered with vision loss from a young age; but attending school was always of the utmost importance. She later moved to North Battleford to continue her studies. In 1959 she met her partner Ray Fortin and they lived in Thompson Manitoba until their son Bernard Tetz was born in 1964. After living in North Battleford and Oshawa Ontario with her family, Lois returned home with Bernard in the early 1970’s.  In her earlier years she attended College to study as a nursing assistant. She worked as both a Nursing Assistant and a Commissionaire with the RCMP. She found joy in simple things like cooking, gardening and singing her favorite songs. She enjoyed documentaries, mysteries, true stories and playing cards. She also loved telling stories of when she was younger, her family and life on the farm.  Lois made every person she met feel loved and accepted. She will be remembered as a selfless woman who dedicated her life to her son and the mentoring of her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father Robert (Bob) Tetz, mother Ivy Tetz, sister Carol Lowe, brother in Law Barry Lowe and partner Ray Fortin. She is survived by her brothers Elmer (Donna) Tetz, Bob Jr (Leona) Tetz, Lloyd (Penny) Tetz, her son Bernard Tetz and her grandchildren Alycia, Brandon, Christopher (Ashlee), Rhianna and Diamond. A private funeral service and celebration of life will be held at the Saskatoon Funeral Home on April 11, 2020. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, North Battleford, Sk.
