I just learned of Vi’s passing. I met Vi at the Riyal Bank in the early 1990s. We worked at the branch on Broadway Ave in Saskatoon.
We became good friends. Did a few Walks for charities. She lived walking and always walked to work. A lovely lady. She had me and my son over for dinner. At that time my son was just 5.
Vi knew the troubles I had working in a toxic work environment that was then. She offered friendship and understanding during a very difficult time in my life, even following the passing of her beloved George. Her husband.
Please accept my condolences and thoughts of such a fine lady. The last time I saw her was about 10 years ago at the Scottish Folkfest Pavillion. She did not remember me and I suspect she was having memory trouble. I gave her a big hug just the same. I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless
