Flora Predinchuk of Moosomin, most recently Saskatoon passed peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2020 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK.  Left to remember her always are her family Kathy (David) Reid of Saskatoon, Bill Predinchuk, Carrie Hall-Predinchuk of St. Albert, AB; Grandchildren Kyle (Sarah) Reid, Saskatoon, Kurtis (Selene) Reid, Hepburn, Kaitlyn (Conrad) Keller, Saskatoon, Callen Predinchuk St. Albert, Cole Predinchuk St. Albert;  Great Grandchildren: Ramona, Edwin, Stephanie, Griffin, Davis & Cooper Reid; Carlyle and Ivadel Reid.

 

 

Flora is also survived by her brother Bob (Pat) McEwen of Regina; brother-in-law Brian McBride of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is pedeceased by her husband of 48 years Morris; brother Jack McEwen; sister-in law Gail, sister-in-law Phyllis Mc Bride, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Johanna and Douglas Hauser. 

 

Flora was born at the farm near Keystown SK on August 30, 1934 to Duncan and Florence (Hamilton) McEwen.  She spent her childhood in the Pense area attending school and graduated from Regina General Hospital, Class 56ii as a Registered Nurse.   She moved to Moosomin Saskatchewan to work at the Moosomin Union Hospital.  Later she worked at the Moosomin Medical Clinic, for a combined 49 years, retiring in 2005.

 

Flora married Morris Predinchuk on August 28, 1958.  Together they were blessed with two children Kathy and Bill.  Their children brought them great joy over the years and blessed them with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Flora was a community minded leader.  She dedicated many hours to her children’s school, music and sporting activities.  She was active with the Order of the Royal Purple, holding may chairs including Honoured Royal Lady.  She was the Senior Choir leader for over 25 years at Bethel United Church, Moosomin, SK and most recently a proud member in McClure Place Choristers and Ukulele Group and helping to lead the singing at Amy McClure House. 

 

She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren doing many activities and playing games.   Vacation time with Grandma was always special and certainly lots of spoiling happened.

 

Music played a significant part in her life and enjoyment.  Flora was a soloist in church and at countless weddings and funerals within the community of Moosomin for many years.

 

She enjoyed working with her husband of 48 years operating their professional photography studio and later art gallery.

Together Flora and Morris spent many days and vacations at their cottage at Round Lake creating lasting memories for their children and grandchildren.  They loved to travel together and visited many parts of Canada and the USA

 

The Celebration of Life will be at McClure United Church, Saskatoon, on February 15 at 1:30 p.m.  A second reception will be held in Moosomin on February 18 at Bethel United Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to McClure Place Foundation would be appreciated.

 

Her love of life and spirit will be treasured in memories of all whose lives she touched.
